ein genereller hinweis für alle baugleichen 3zylinder:
Der hydraulische kettenspanner geht öfters kapput als die kette.
Im kettenspanner sind 2 rückschlagventile die dafür sorgen das das öl im kettenspanner nach dem ausschalten des motors verbleibt und somit der kolben vom kettenspanner nicht wieder in das gehäuse eingedrückt werden kann. bei undichten rückschlagventilen läuft der kettenspanner leer und die kette drükt den kolben beim start in das gehäuse rein. die kette hat spiel und rasselt, kann überspringen.(!) bis der öldruck anliegt.
Der kettenspanner kriegt bei dieser motorkonstuktion UNGEFILTERTES motoröl direkt von der ölpumpe, dadurch gehen die rückschlagventile kaputt! -
Update: kein ölverbrauch! aktuell Castrol 0w30 c3 drinnen. zieht für 54 ps gut durch.

Gibt ja viele Problemstellen an dem Motor, vorallem die frühen 6V mit Motorkennbuchstaben A** -
verschlissene kolbenringe & durch den horrenden ölverbrauch verbrannte ventile

Die Ventile brennen eher durch, wenn man häufig aus hohen Lastzuständen schnell vom Gas geht, der Kat ist zu nah am Auslass. Ab B** sitzt der Kat etwas weiter hinten und den gibt es auch von VW zum ,, nachrüsten" . Gern bekommt dadurch der Kopf auch Verzug oder reißt sogar. Wenn jetzt alles gut ist, dann ist super

Ein paar alte Fotos von mir, um auch diesen schönen Thread weiterzuführen. Bei dem Motor handelt es sich um einen BMW M42 mit bald 300.000 Km Laufleistung, der von der Vorbesitzerin öltechnisch überhaupt nicht gepflegt wurde. Beginnend Fotos während ich den Motor zerlegt habe und einmal nachdem ich meine Finger daran hatte.
Für bald 300.000 Km sehen die Zylinder rein optisch gut aus, nicht wahr? Aber sie waren völlig verschlissen, wie eine Messung offenbarte; daher wurde gebohrt. -

Der Subito lügt nicht.
Im OT-Bereich sieht man den Verschleiß deutlich. 0,15-0,30mm?
Die Lager waren bestimmt auch nicht mehr rosig. -
Ich musste auf das 2. Übermaß gehen. Die Pleuellager waren fertig; die Hauptlager waren okay. Der Ölverbrauch lag bei 500-1000ml auf 1000 Km, je nach Fahrweise. Es war klar zu hören, wie der Motor sich vor der Revision gequält hat, wenn man ihn z.B. hochdrehte. Nach der Revision war der Unterschied im Klang wie Tag und Nacht, obwohl es derselbe Motor ist. Was das doch ausmacht...

Hier noch drei alte Bilder einer Motoreninstandsetzung. Ich hatte damals viel mehr Bilder gemacht, aber leider besitze ich sie nicht mehr. Es handelt sich um einen Porsche 964 Motor, der einmal komplett überholt wurde und dazu Tuning in Form von anderen Pleueln, Nockenwellen etc. erhielt. Der Preis der Revision inklusive Tuning betrug um die 20.000€. Den Motor hatte ein alter Meister gemeinsam mit mir aufgebaut, der absoluter Experte für die alten luftgekühlten 911er Motoren war und nun schon lange in Rente ist.
Bei den Porsche Motoren ist ab Werk vieles besser, als beispielsweise bei den ordinären BMW Motoren. Die Kurbelwelle ist, wie bei Ferrari auch, viel genauer ausgewuchtet als eine BMW Welle; man schaue sich auch mal die feinen Kurbelwangen an. Diese sehen auch so fein bei alten Ferraris aus. BMW, Mercedes und co sind da regelrecht klobige Massenware gegen.
Interessant – für die, die es noch nicht kennen – ist auch die Kopfdichtung (bzw. Kopfdichtungen) bei diesen Motoren. Im rechten Bild wird diese als lediglich dünner Ring in die Nut gelegt, die ihr oben auf den Zylindern erkennen könnt – das war es.

Vor 5 Wochen einen M50B25TU für 130 Euro auf Ebay geschossen (Zylinderkopfdichtung undicht).
Der M43 Motor im E36 Kurzstreckenbomber musste heute weichen, nun kann ich auch im Winter besser im Verkehr "mit schwimmen".
Leichtes nachhonen der Zylinderlaufbahnen reichte völlig aus, alle Zylinder super maßhaltig. Für 1700 Euro Material wieder 15 Jahre
im Winter unterwegs. Mein Weihnachtsgeschenk von mir an mich. -

Ich sehe schon, dass der Motor auch mit Redline Paste verwöhnt wurde.
Die Motoren gewöhnen sich recht schnell an den Stoff.
Es dauert jetzt sicherlich nicht mehr lange, dann kaufst Du dir ein neues Kurzstreckenfahrzeug.
Zum Glück ist noch Platz in der Garage. -
Interessant – für die, die es noch nicht kennen – ist auch die Kopfdichtung (bzw. Kopfdichtungen) bei diesen Motoren. Im rechten Bild wird diese als lediglich dünner Ring in die Nut gelegt, die ihr oben auf den Zylindern erkennen könnt – das war es.
an meiner alten Duc. (Bj.94) gibt es garkeine Kopfdichtung. Habe nicht schlecht gestaunt als ich die Köpfe gezogen hatte
Nachteil ist das es Undichtigkeiten geben kann die bei den neueren Modellen eine Kopfdichtung ausgleichen kann.
In den nächsten Wochen werden die Köpfe wieder gezogen -

Sieht nicht jede Montagepaste so aus? Woher weiß man dass es Redline Paste ist?
Oder war das nur nen Joke aufgrund der Farbe?

War kein Joke. Julian ist sehr zufrieden mit der Paste. Mein M52 Motor wurde auch
mit der Paste aufgebaut. Die Motoröle sind aber auch sehr gut.
