Hi.
I have mentioned it on another post but this is the related.
Here in Greece there are many complains from 1.0 tsi and 1.5 tsi customer for very increased oil consumption.
Given the fact that the same engines didmt have any issue before many they say that the problem is the used oil 0w20 and the new spec of vw 508 00.
Suddenly in the last 8 months many people are shouting that the cars are burning oil! -
The relevant value is HTHS! Viscosity at 150 degree C.
If I were you I would inform myself in the oil expertise using Google Translate: oil expertthank you! this is what I will do

Hello all,
we all testing the behavior of various motor oils during low temperatures and it is fair enough.
However, I am wondering what is the behaviour of 2 different 5w30 motor oils with different viscosity at high temperatures. For example, I read in specs that the viscosity of the LM 5w30 at 100c is 12.2 and the viscosity of M1 5w30is 11.8.
Does this mean that in high temps LM has a comparative advantage?
Please don't tell me if you are interesting for better protection to use 5w40.
My question is how to understand from 2 same sae viscosity motor oils which one will protect my engine better at high temp.
